Hi, I am Kieran Taylor, a DBS-Checked and Approved, British Psychological Society-Accredited (AMBPSS) Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.
My qualifications were gained whilst studying at The University College London and working as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.
I then gained more experience working within the NHS via The Mental Health Support Team in Bedford.
Both these roles provided me with extensive experience in conducting both Group Interventions and 1-2-1 Interventions for children and young people (aged 5-17) and their parents.
I am currently a PE teacher at a local SEND school in Bedford.
My Qualifications also include a Degree in Applied Sports and Physical Education from the University of Bedfordshire, as well as a The Football Association Level 2 (UEFA C) Coaching Badge.
My coaching knowledge/experience commenced in 2017 when I started coaching or Biggleswade United Under 21s team as well as at Milton Keynes Dons within their SET provision and pre-academy.
These sessions were devised to strive to get the best out of the players by giving them the edge, come game time on the weekends.
I have also coached for four years with ex-Professional Footballer where sessions were tailored for those children who enjoyed football and wanted to attend during school half terms.
I have also recently been a coach for Kempston Rovers under-11 Girls Lionesses in a voluntary role for season 2024/2025.
What to Expect.
Within the Sports and Wellbeing Sessions, we will be working on Positive Self-Talk, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which includes Techniques and Strategies for Young Sports People and honing in on skills they feel less confident about. These sessions will be conducted for an hour and a half at a local sports field (TBC) to enable time to work on both aspects of the session.
The Wellbeing Sessions comprise of all things CBT and bringing in that positive change for a child or young person's life, and will be conducted for one-hour durations via "Microsoft Teams".
The Sports Skills Sessions focus on Specific Skills That the Young Athlete believes they need to improve, or what their Club and/or Team Coach believes would be beneficial to work on. These sessions will be conducted for a duration of one hour at a local sports field.
All Sessions will ONLY commence AFTER a Therapy Contract and a Questionnaire have been completed and submitted by a Parent or Guardian.
